December 24, 2009 -  4th Quarter newsletter is in progress, stay tuned.  We are planning our first chapter meeting in Q1 2010.  Details to follow soon. 

October 29, 2009 -  The first Chapter Social, held at Mio in Washington DC.  The time is from 5:30-8:30.  It is a forum for you to get to know us and we get to know you.  Come and join the fun. 

October 19, 2009 -  An e-mail was sent to all APA members in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia as well as all WMAC-APA members and the interested parties from our initial formation e-mail.  This is the final advertisement of the first WMAC-APA Chapter Social, sponsored by Accountants International. 

September 4, 2009 - The membership application is now posted on the website.  Chapter updates will be mailed shortly to our contact list. 

August 27, 2009 - The third formation meeting held at the Irish Inn in Glen Echo, Maryland.  At this meeting, we finalizaed the Membership Application, the Chapter Brochure and made additional updates to the bylaws of the organization.  We also had our sponsor Accountant International present to start working with us on the detail of our first social to be sponsored by them.

June 23, 2009 - Second formation meeting held at the Irish Inn in Glen Echo, Maryland.  At this meeting, there was review new member brochure, membership application, volunteer form and version 1 of the by-laws.  Our goal is to have a social in September, first offical meeting in October and our final year end meeting in December.  This goal is aggressive, however, we are motivated to make it happen.

June 18, 2009 - Shared our current status with the WMAC-APA.

May 21, 2009 - Inside "Congress Today", we were revealed as the First AAPA Local Chapter.  Click Here and go to page 5 for the article.

May 14, 2009 - Chapter documents signed and sent to National AAPA.  We are an official Affiliated Chapter of the AAPA.

May 13, 2009 - Formation Chapter Meeting - On the Border - Tysons Corner 6:30 PM

May 7, 2009 - Sent email to all who expressed interest in assisting with the formation of this chapter.  This email was sent to confirm the survey results on the first formation meeting.  This meeting will be held on May 13, 2009 - at On The Border, 8053 Leesburg Pike, Vienna, VA at 6:30.

May 4, 2009 - Sent email to all who expressed interest in assisting with the formation of this chapter.  This email survey which date would work for the majority of the group.

April 18, 2009 - Sent email to all who expressed interest in assisting with the formation of this chapter.  This email was to let them know that dates will be sent out shortly for the first formation meeting.

March 29, 2009 - Sent email to all who expressed interest in assisting with the formation of this chapter.  This email was to narrow down a meeting time for the first official formation meeting.

March 22, 2009 - Sent a thank you and update to all who took the formation survey.

February 22, 2009 - Sent first email blast out to all members of the WMAC-APA, National APA Members and National AAPA Members.

February 12, 2009 - Shared the formation news with the members of the WMAC-APA and thanked the board for their support at the February Chapter Meeting.

February 2, 2009 - Website is now up!

January 31, 2009 - Based on survey of several intersted participants and our supporting APA Chapter (WMAC-APA), name of Washington Metropolitan Area Chapter of the American Accounts Payable Association (WMAC-AAPA) was chosen.

January 26, 2009 - Requested National APA and National AAPA member database to spread the news locally.

January 22, 2009 - Support was approved by the Board of Directors for the WMAC-APA.  Thanks to this APA chapter, we will be able to form!  Thanks WMAC-APA.

Late December 2008 / Early January 2009 - Interest was show on the starting of this new AAPA local chapter.  Once interest is shown, it is time to start the ball rolling.
